Our
History

The “community living” movement began in 1954 when a visionary group of parents sought alternatives to institutional care for their children. Working with limited resources, these families established their own school and developed services to ensure their sons and daughters could enjoy the highest possible quality of life.
This pioneering spirit continues today, as dedicated parents persist in challenging the status quo to create opportunities and the best possible quality of life for their children.
We proudly serve Southern York Region, including the communities of Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, and Whitchurch-Stouffville.
