Support Services / Outreach

Partially funded by the United Way of York Region

Our team of Community Support Coordinators assists people of all ages in connecting to resources and opportunities in their community which promote their involvement as full citizens.

Community Support assists families in “bridging the gap” while on the list for services funded by the Ministry of Community and Social Services; this is accomplished with creative problem solving assistance.

Community Support Services may include:

  • providing awareness of resources, referrals, and education and information services, including workshops
  • assisting people and their families in connecting to others who share similar interests
  • assisting in planning for typical life transitions
  • identifying funding opportunities and completing funding applications
  • supporting people to use their voices to advocate in directing their lives
  • facilitating social and recreational options for children and youth, including school break camps and parent‐directed respite groups
